David is the founder and managing partner of the firm. He received his bachelor’s degree (cum laude) in 1986 from California State University, Northridge, where he studied Business Administration. David then received his law degree from Southwestern University (S.C.A.L.E. program) in 1988 and was admitted to the California bar that year. While at Southwestern, David was the recipient of the Bradley Scholarship and the American Board of Trial Advocates Award for superiority in trial preparation.
In 1996, David left a highly successful practice as a partner at the national law firm of McDermott, Will & Emery, and launched his own firm. David’s approach is simple – he strives to deliver the highest quality legal counsel in the most cost-efficient and accessible manner.
David focuses his practice in three primary areas – business transactions, real-estate and bankruptcy. As a business owner himself, David understands the unique challenges his clients face, and uses that knowledge to guide a diverse group of clients ranging from aviation, telecommunication, manufacturing, service firms, restaurants, and other entrepreneurs. In his transactional practice, David serves as “outside” in-house counsel to his clients, guiding them through all aspects of their daily business operations. In addition, David has his California Real-Estate Broker’s license, which provides a strong foundation for his commercial real-estate advisory practice.
David also represents individuals and businesses in all aspects of bankruptcy and insolvency matters. David has represented debtors, creditors, trustees and receivers, in all areas of insolvency and bankruptcy matters including adversary proceedings, which gives him a unique perspective into each client’s case.
David has written several articles which have been published by the Beverly Hills Bar Association and the California Bankruptcy Journal. In addition, he has lectured before the California State University, Los Angeles, Continuing Education Program, “Tax and Bankruptcy Litigation Issues”; the University of California, Los Angeles, Extension Program, “Bankruptcy Law and Creditors’ Rights”; and Lorman Education Services, “Commercial Real Estate Financing In California.”
David is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the American Bar Associations, the Los Angeles Bankruptcy Forum, and the James T. King Bankruptcy Inn of Court. David is also a licensed Broker and a member of the California Association of Realtors, and the Southland Regional Association of Realtors.
